Monica Johnson Schroeder, SCS
Drawing on over 17 years of experience in banking, Monica Johnson Schroeder (SCS) serves as vice president of originations for Capital One Multifamily Financing's Birmingham, Alabama, office, where she primarily focuses on nationwide debt financing and transaction management of manufactured home community loans. A board of directors member of the Alabama Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) chapter, Monica Johnson Schroeder has worked with Capital One since 2010 and, in that time, completed a bachelor's degree in finance with a focus in real estate from the University of Alabama Birmingham.
While attending university, Monica Johnson Schroeder (SCS) earned multiple scholarships, including the 2010 and 2012 Alabama CCIM Troy McClendon Scholarship Fund Award as well as the 2010 Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship. Additionally, she recorded a 3.5 GPA and was a member of the University of Alabama's ACRE Leadership Council.
Her previous experience in banking includes over a decade split between Collateral Real Estate Capital and Berkadia Commercial Management, where she closed commercial real estate loans to be purchased by high-profile lenders such as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. She began her career as an office assistant with Johnson Shipbuilding in 1994, and before joining Collateral Real Estate Capital, she worked as an administrative assistant with AmSouth Bank.
